The hen looks like a silver color to me. The cock I cannot see very well, but more then likely a normal split for another color. I am no expert for sure, so I would not count on me being even remotely close.

I do have a silver hen and a silver cock myself. Although they are not paired at this time, I hope to. They are both recessive silver. I do not have any dominant silvers yet.

Thanks Tina :D
I'm hoping the cock is split for whatever the hen is as he has the same chocolate markings ( just a little darker )

How do you tell the difference between a dominant silver and a recessive silver ?

I found a picture of a recessive silver male on a site and mine is identical to it, otherwise I would not know for sure but I think the ds males have lighter cheeks like creamish. I can try to find the site again and post it, they had loads of pictures of different mutations.

Thanks for the link . Lots of fun looking at all the finch pics .

As of this morning it appears that 2 of the eggs have hatched . The parents are extremely protective of the nest so it's hard to get a look .
It'll be fun to see what colors come out of the nest in a few weeks :D

Hey thanks for that link. I once had that site bookmarked but lost the link when I had to replace my hard drive.
