Normal and Black face hens.

Hi there, I'm considering breeding my black face male to my normal hen, would this be a good idea? Would I be better to breed him to my fawn hen? Pic below of my normal hen. Anyway, if I did breed him to my normal hen would I be able to get black face babies? And I'm guessing I'll get normals... how do you tell black face and normal hens apart?

Hi yes i's the best way to do . u breed BF to regular Grey or Fawn hen and u will got BF for sure
BF grey X Reg grey = 50% BF grey,50% Reg Grey the sex doesn't matter .

fawn is sex linked
BF grey x Reg Fawn = 25 % BF GREY/FAWN cok, 25 % grey/Fawn cok ,25% grey hen , 25% BF grey hen
you can differentiate regular BF from grey by body color
in bf hen the chest and the belly color are same as body color , same for the area between the beak and the tear drop and the front .

from e-finch :
Black Face females have only subtle differences from normal hens and are easily passed over. The white between the tear mark and the beak is gray instead of buff white and there is often an extension of gray down from the breast. The tail bars are similar to males.

Clack an females have spiets ??
The answer is yes and no. In reality it depends on mutation's type
Dominante mutation like BF neither the male nor the female can split for it
Recessive both can split for like pied f.e
Sexlinked mutation like fawn, cfw, lb only male can split for, the female is mutant or regular
Of corse you can have a combo for three kind in the same bird especialy in the male
Like a Black face split for pied and split for light back (bf/pied/lb)
Hen could be only for same combo
Bf split for pied (bf/pied)
Bf split for pied and light back (bf LB /pied)

In general manner
Regular or dominante /recessive/sexlinked male
Regular or dominante /recessive female

Bf x grey /pied
50% BF
50‰ REGULAR GREY
DIVIDE PIED BY TWO
BF 25%, 25BF/PIed
25%regular, 25 %regular grey /pied

I'm pairing my BF with my CFW. I figure I'd only get CFW males and BFs
