Is this hourglass ??
Hi there,
Just noticed one of my baby Zebs (sibling to the speckled babies) has weird shaped tail bars. Does it look like hour glass at all?
Thanks!

So it's definitely hour glass? And does mean it is split to bb ?haroun wrote: Flight Feathers yep, i can see two hg shaps

Re: Is this hourglass ??
So because I got a visual split ... Does this mean both parents carry the bb gene? And how do I get a full bb?

Yes at least one of them does.Flight Feathers wrote: So because I got a visual split ... Does this mean both parents carry the bb gene? And how do I get a full bb?
For recessive mutations like BB
Regular x Split = 50% regulars, 50% splitters
And to got a mutant at least borh parents should Split for.
Split x split=25% mutant note low ratio but good sized
Mutant xsplit = 50% mutant. Note medium ratio and good sized
Mutant x mutant =100% mutant. Jackpot but lost in size

Sorry I'm super confused... So only one of my parents carries the gene? If so I know who it is... It's my fawn hen because her grand son looks like he carries it. I also think my pied white might carry it tho because of the speckled markings... What do you think?haroun wrote:Yes at least one of them does.Flight Feathers wrote: So because I got a visual split ... Does this mean both parents carry the bb gene? And how do I get a full bb?

yes , o,ly one parent could be split for bb and it's enough to transmit it to the babies (split for bb) and it's 50-50.Flight Feathers wrote:Sorry I'm super confused... ur pied could be carrying bb gene but the spckled marks are not a BB's split for indicator , split for bb marks are : hour glass shape, thin tear drop , cheek patch up to eyes lobe
