Birds learning to sing are the best; they let out weird screeching noises, but still seem so proud of themselves XD

Icearstorm yep I remember once I bred a really nice society off coco and Ginge , like really nice it was a grey pearl but with black wings and the end off it’s wing the very edge was white then he had the scale chest and for some reason a really big beak like really thick for a society finch it was more or less double cocos anyway he used to sing really well out in the sun learning his self how to sing a full tune sadly when I went on holiday the people caring for him didn’t give them food and I lost a zebbie and and that juvenile society

I’d love to have seen him fully coloured up and bred him

It's a shame he died... You'd think that people would know that animals need food to survive, but maybe it was just a mistake (a pretty bad one, at that)? Who knows, maybe one of Coco's future offspring will be like him.

Icearstorm yep hopefully and I know I thought that too I had the food in pots and when I got back they was two dead, coco,finchue and ginge survived but that chick and a other zeb did.

Then I realised that the food tubs was filled with hulls and not seeds but uno things teaching lessons so I’ve learnt my lesson with that one

haroun yep I would have known but when I was asking everyday I was told well the suns out and they are tweeting all day so I saw that as them being happy when really bet they was tweeting due to hinger

Fraza when i inspect my zebbies i know by simple hearing their tweeting what's wrong especially if they're hungry

I use a hopper feeder for that reason; the hulls should fall to the ground, so you should always know how much edible seed is left. The hopper feeders also help keep poop out of the seed, which is quite useful. The hopper feeder I use holds about two pounds of seed, and lasts at least a couple of weeks for my five birds.

It may take a few days for the birds to start eating out of the hopper feeders, so if you start using them, leave the food tubs out as well until you see the birds eating from the hopper feeders.

No not yet the socities are sitting tightly including that hen, we should see some hatchlings by the next weekend

Icearstorm Yh I have them in hopper feeders now in the aviary it lasts about 2 weeks and that’s with all the birds in there then I use a wild bird feeder in there aswell it’s quite handy

In the cages I now use a bird bath full of seeds and change it every week because that’s when it gets about empty

haroun okay that’s exiting I hope u get some nice ones

I have two zebra finch babies that are 6 days old. Can I give them to my bengalese finches to raise? Thanks!
