gouldian id & genetics

Post by jadeguppy » Sun Nov 18, 2018 12:37 pm

Does anyone have a guess at this little ones genetics? I think daddy was a yellow and mom was a green back. daddy probably a red head, mom could have been black red or orange/yellow head. I'm trying to start keeping genetics records. Colony breeding had some pluses, but I'm going to try individual cages next time.

Also, male or female?

Thank you for the help.

No expertise on genetics, but what a little beauty!

Thank you. I'm very happy with him/her. Do you think it is male? The breast color is the same as my females, but I'm not sure if it is just diluted.

I played with a genetics predictor and came up with only females with the whitish head. The only difference I could find is if he carries the white breast recessive and just isn't showing it.

Can anyone confirm?

Its a hen. Lilac breast. I cant tell the back color. Theres green in the top of the wings (can be photo).

Looks like a female RH / lilac breast /silver . I need a better picture.

The picture is true to color. The other pictures looked yellow body and wings, but the back is definitely green tinged.
