Post by Littlemissfinch » Sat Jan 24, 2009 3:29 pm

hi all! :) I'm new as you can tell, and i have a pair of zebra finches. im going to breed them and i want to know what the babes are going to look like...

male:your basic gray with brown cheeks white belly stipped tale, the most common

Female: light grey with white belly and grey stipped tail,

(parents looks unknown)

so what do you think i will get? :?: :?:

wish me luck on my breeding! :!:

Sounds like you have two normal parents, so most likely you will get babies that look just like the parents.

If I'm right, your female is a lightback grey bird, which color is caused by a sex-linked recessive gene, so you will have all normal grey babes, from which the males split to lightback greys.
