Here are some new pics of my black cheek. He is 2 yrs old and the same bird in my avatar. He went through some molting the past 3 months and has a lot more black.
He has fully black flanks and black face, spotted black breast and spotted head.
Looks really cool but is this normal, especially after 2 years?
Same finch about 6 months old.

No matter what colors my zebras are the males seem to get richer color with every moult. I don't have a clack cheek but one of my black face, black chest males has gotten darker and larger colored areas every year.
I would say the 6 month pic shows he has not obtained his adult plumage. Now he has...beautiful zebra...think I need a black check or two

whats a few more when you are feeding the mases

He's a Black Cheeked and Black Brested Male. He is my favorite mutation for the zebra family.

I am hoping to find him a good mate. I want a CFW for him if possible or one like his mother, CFW Black cheek.
