Two of my male Zebra Finches, does anyone know what mutation they are? Thanks.

Black with brownish wings, chestnut flanks, sort of teardrop but not quite, black chest stripes, black vertical stripes on belly, red eyes.

wow they're really pretty! I have no idea what they are though, I went to the finch calculator on zebrafinch.info and the closest I could get was a black cheeked black face combo. If you're thinking of breeding maybe pick a female that's got genes that are recessive to most other colours then your chicks might show what 2 things the dads are made of

Thank you. Although those mutations do come close, they are still a bit different. I've been looking around a bit since I bought the finches and still don't know for sure what the mutation is called...
And I do hope to breed him one day too.

Since ChocoboDragon is in AU, it's possible these birds are the Charcoal mutation mentioned in this paragraph...

The Eumo very closely resembles the Australian mutation known as Charcoal, so much so that photos of the two are, in my opinion, indistinguishable. Charcoals however lack the feather abnormality and have completely normal feathers. One can only hope that in time Eumos might lose the feather problem.

Yep, looks like a charcoal to me.
ABK Publications "A Guide To... Zebra Finches" has a great set of illustrations of pretty well all the mutations available in Aus. I don't have a copy myself, but it would be worth getting a hold of. Your local library may have a copy, or you can get one here:

They can fly normally, I guess they are Charcoal then. Cool, thank you everyone for the help.
