I have two Gouldians.
Both male and female are:
Yellow Head
Purple Breast
Green Back
Split to White Breast
Will the offspring be classified as split to white breast because the parents are?
Or will it depend on what the breast color ends up being? (white or purple).
If breast is purple=split to white
If breast is white = ??

You can have
1. Purple Breast
2. Purple Breast split to White
3. White Breast
You won't be able to tell visually if the Purple Breast offspring are split.

So Im guessing the only way to tell if the purple breast babies are split to white is to see if they have white breasted babies themselves???
Sounds like this genetic thing is more like a crap shoot!!!

Yes, you'll have to look at the next generation to tell.
If you mate your PB baby with a WB bird
50% of offspring will be WB if you have a PB/WB split baby
100% of offspring will be PB if you have a PB baby.
