Gouldian pair ** PICS ADDED**

Post by akidsgal » Mon Aug 03, 2009 10:52 am

I have a RH PB GB normal cock paired with an OH PB GB hen. One of their offspring looks paler then the others. What kind of outcomes are possible with these 2?
Thanks in advance...

I will add pictures later in the day.

Here is a single pic. I stand corrected! They have 5 babies!

Thats what I was thinking! It seems as though it takes forever when you are looking for an answer!

All I have to do is to keep my mom and dad filled with millet and eggfood. They are the ones with the work ahead of them. However, I went in the flight the other night and lo and behold dad was stuck on some nesting material. I think he may lose a leg out of the deal however he is still the doting daddy and helping with the little beggars!

I was so scared...... but things have settled down and he is taking up the slack from the other day.

Cool picture and congratulations.

Unless your pair is split to blue, you're going to get all normals, and unless the cock is split to yellow head, all the chicks will be red headed that are split to yellow head.

Sorry, I was in cape cod :)
Jordan is right, unless you got a breeding snuck in with another male before these two were paired, you can only get normal babies out of the bunch. :)

So correct me if I have mistaken. Because dad is RH normal all babies will be RH. Mom's genes don't matter unless dad is split as well. Is that right?
Thanks...

It's certainly not that her genes don't matter - it's just that OH is recessive, so unless he carries it as well, the babies will not be visually OH - just carriers of the gene (thanks to mom).
