What will these two gouldians produce?

Post by Domenic » Fri Sep 25, 2009 7:19 pm

Male Dilute: Red Head, Dilute Back, Purple Breast
Female Normal: Black Head, Normal Back, Normal Breast

I'm debating whether I should pair these two depending on the chicks they will produce. Please help me out.
Zebra, Orange cheeks, Owls, Gouldians, Blue-Capped Cordon Bleus, Goldbreasts, Black Face Fires, & Button Quail

Barring any unknown splits, and assuming "normal breast" = purple breast:

RH/BH PB Normal Males
RH/BH PB Dilute Males
RH PB Normal Hens
RH PB Yellow Hens

Thanks Tiffany for putting it so clearly. Since their is a 25% for a yellow hen and 25% for a dilute I think this wouldn't be too bad of a pair. Hmm..... Tiffany, if you had a single red head dilute what bird would you pair him with to get the most desirable chicks (desirable meaning rarer colorations)? And this not including a blue or silver because those are both way out of my reach right now.

Probably a yellow hen :)

That way you could get DF Yellow Males, Yellow Hens, Dilute Males, Normal Hens :)

Every bird would be different basically!

A yellow hen it is then! Now I only have the challenge of finding one.
