I have 3 babies from a RH WB BB pair
2 babies from a RH PB Dilute male and OH PB YB female
I assumed I would get all blues from the BB pair and either dilutes or YB from the yellow/dilute pair.
ALL have the center nodule white.
ONE baby from the blue pair has all nodules white and NO inner mouth markings at all. I could not get a pic of him begging with mouth open but will try again if it will help.
Is it a Silver??? He seems so pale next to the others...even his eyes seems paler.
What color is this baby gould

Re: What color is this baby gould
I definitely see two that are blue, but there are two that look either Dilute or normal, are you sure the three eggs were from the BB pair? And if so, are you colony breeding or individual cage breeding and was the hen with any other males before you paired her up?
At first glance the light baby looks like it could be silver, if you don't know if the Dilute/YB pair is split for blue then it's entirely possible, but looking at the difference in it's skin color next to the blues I'm not entirely convinced and I'll stick with yellow for now. Only because if it was a Silver it should have pink skin like the blues - but if you look at the first photo in particular you can see this baby still has yellowish/reddish skin rather than pink.
When babies have their mouths closed the outside of the nodules generally look white when they are this young - but what you really want to look at is the nodules when the mouths are gaping wide..

Re: What color is this baby gould
I have been keeping them separate for quite some time now and breed them in separate cages. I marked them so I am sure the 3 eggs were from the blue.
The yellow female MAY be a split and the dilute male I was TOLD he was a split BUT I take that with a shaker of salt. But if it is true I will be pleasantly surprised.
What threw me is there is no dark inner mouth markings.

Goulds are like candy...doesn't matter what flavor...it's ALL good!
I like yellow but I am partial to blue (I must admit)
