Zebra Fledgling Color ?

Well my CFW male and normal female sucessfully fledged two babies and are sitting on another clutch. I do have a question or two about the babies color in relation to the parents.

The babies are both brownish gray? They are not pure gray like the mother but instead more brownish in contrast. Is this because of the male being CFW?

Also, they are both males so does that mean they are split to CFW?

Thanks in advance! Will try and get pictures!

I feel that fledgelings are usually a little more brownish than the adult grey colour but that molts out of them. Though I think that CFW splits might be lighter in colour.

I am no good with the sex linked things but if I remember correctly your male chicks should be split for CFW and if you get female chicks they should be CFW.

:)

Salam

brownish gray ?? did they finish there molt yet ? or at least got the color of the cheeks and the flanks ? then they could be splits for light back ( and their father is too ). and yes all the males will be split for CFW.

I agree with Ameza. Grey chicks do tend to be browner colored than the parents, but they molt that out. A pic would be a great help though.
