Made this today....

1 box of cornbread mix, follow directions but add...

1 cup ground pellets

1 extra egg

1/4 cup grated carrot

1/2 cup frozen, thawed peas

1/2 cup frozen, thawed corn

mix, spoon into a well greased pan or glass baking dish and bake according to directions on the package. Veggies and extras like herbs can be switched up for a variety.

Looks great Cindy! I bought a box of mix for irish soda bread, that you knead and it comes out hard, I am going to add some extra eggs, and stuff for the birds and try it. I think my tiels will like, and my zebras eat everything! Do you think irish soda bread can work?

I was concerned about the sodium bicarbonate in the Irish soda bread but looked up some of the hookbill foods and it is an active ingredient in some of them like Higgins Mayan Harvest... (Rummy like that).

If it contains Whey powder I am honestly unsure of that ingredient and the use on birds. I know cornmeal is always a hit!

Checked the ingredients, dont see anything about whey powder, no mention of sodium bicarbonate either
