Poor Steve

As if changing his perches around and adding things to his cage wasn't enough, I put a new swing in. Then I noticed, wow, his nails have gotten too long. So, I caught him -- without too much effort, I might add -- and clipped his nails. He tolerated it very well, didn't even squirm, but he was probably thinking I've gone mad. He looked at me after I put him back in the cage as if to say, Why are you doing all this to me? We were getting along so well.

I always feel bad when they don't squirm. I always feel like it's because they're scared stiff!

Steve is such a hilariously perfect name for a canary!

My husband met a donkey named Jim yesterday. Seems like he'd be friends with a canary named Steve. Te he he.

MiaCarter, Maybe he was scared into limpness. He did talk back to me after it was all done in his Steve-ism chirps when I poured on the sweet voice telling him that I was sorry.
