What is this black thing?

Although they are technically passerines, canaries tend to be managed uniquely, so here is a forum just for them!

What is this black thing?

Post by Sandra » Sat Apr 11, 2015 9:39 am

My canary was treated for scaly mites back in Feb with s76. It was given as recommended. Since I still see a scale that hasn't fall out, I give the s76 once a week last 2-3 weeks. But now I see a black dot on his leg!!!

What is this?

Hi
its like a little hemorrhage!! let the others guess too.
if its a hemorrhage it may caused by a trauma and is not an important problem...

it doesn't stick out. Is like a mole on the skin, I don't feel it but see it.
I put the s76 about 1 and half week ago .. and I know it wasn't there at that time.

Sandra

I would guess a bruise or a bit of blood like a blood blister drying up - the old blood would look brown - especially since there is a metal band on that leg.

the proteins of that blood spot will be re-absorbed and will be OK.
