Re: Canary Heavy breathing
Heavy breathing can be caused by a few things... dampen the bird's belly feathers and see if she has fat pads that resemble yellow meringue under the skin. Fat pads under the skin can put pressure on the lungs and heart making the bird out of breath easily. Is she more out of breath after moving around?
Next put her close to your ear in a quiet room.... does it sound like ticking of a watch or does it sound wet, sticky. Does she try clearing her throat, beak wiping?
