My Timbrado canaries have had three chicks hatch over the past three days. Two of them have a darker skin color that I saw on the first two this pair had, but one of the new ones is very pink. I guess that I can wait to find out, but I was curious if this means that the bird will have different colors of feathers?
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Skin color of canaries
Feather color matches skin color. The dark chicks will be grey or brown, maybe with yellow markings. Pink chicks will have more yellow, or will be white.

It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

I thought that that might be the case. I looked when I got home, and the dark grey chicks have grey down, and the pink one has white down. And that chick's beak seems a brighter yellow.Feather color matches skin color. The dark chicks will be grey or brown, maybe with yellow markings. Pink chicks will have more yellow, or will be white.
