They are splendid! Congratulations!
Currently caring for two Javan, two Gouldian, two Society, two Star, two Cutthroath, three canaries... One Siamese Fighting Fish and about sixty-ish plants around the house.
Previously kept cockatiels, budgies and one lovely Barred Parakeet, plus small mammals and fish since I was a kid.

Re: Considering getting canaries
Thanks all.
I am told they are 4 months old. They are supposed to be a pair, the breeder turned them upside down and sexed them. I'm not entirely sure how accurate his ability to do this was. Time will tell but I have a feeling they're both boys. I wanted to make sure none are bullied and to encourage them to sing so they each have their own flight cage. It should be easier this way to distinguish a male from a female as well. At this point they are both making the same calls but no song. I love the color as it reminds me of a flamingo.

It's not always possible to get an acurate view of the vent when they're not in breeding mode, and even more so at that age. This site has a great example of what both the female and male look like: http://canary101.blogspot.ca/ You'll notice both have a protruding vent area, but the males is pointier/longer and the female has what I've heard referred to as a "torpedo". When they're all covered in feathers, they can look very similar, and it's easy to make a mistake. I recently bought a male from a very experienced breeder, and it turned out to be a female.
Anyway, my point is it's pretty accurate but not fool proof. Play canary singing for them (youtube has some great recordings) every morning at dawn, and within a couple of weeks you should hear them singing along, and eventually on their own.

Thanks Rob. I can see why even the experts have a difficult time. I think my best hope is to encourage them to sing. I've started playing canary training videos hopefully one or both will start singing soon.
