Yes they have a nest, with nest material and everythingfinchmix22 wrote: Does the pair have a nest? Maybe he's screaming because he wants to go to nest! Maybe, he is bored. Treat him like a parakeet with swings and toys and foraging materials and see if he is interested. I keep a radio or TV on for my birds, especially if I'm not home and that reduces the noise. I have a parakeet pair and the male screams loudly when he is trying to get the hens attention and wants to play. He calms down once he gets to play or gets some attention from the hen or I talk to him like a baby/child. LOL. Good Luck!

It is possible that he wants to breed, but I wouldn't be around to assist them and it would be a bit risky.
Unfortunately he already has everything he wants, he is never bored

Could it be that being able to see/hear tonnes of other birds outside is making him screech all day? He is always near a window where he can look out.
Ahh I see! No offence taken of course, rehoming is the plan. Thanks!Mexicancanary wrote: Articuno, you misunderstood what I was saying, I think. Rehome your male canary with someone else other than yourself. Once he goes to a new person with different energy and environment, his behavior will not be the same as it was when living with you. I do not mean anything negative towards you.....sometimes a bird living in a certain environment with a person that they don't have good karma with, will behave badly as in your situation. Your male canary is misbehaving badly and needs to be put in a completely new home with new energy and also by himself with no other canaries would be best for him.
You can always bring in another calmer male for your female canary if that is what you want.
Good luck with your endeavor.
I am not in America either, what gave you that impression?? LOL! I live in York. If you can afford a trip up here some time to see my canary, feel free. I would love to give him to someone that can take good care of him so I'd also like to meet the person wanting to adopt himDiana wrote: I would definitely have this boy but I am not in America:(

If you'd like a trial run with him too, I can do that (I'd prefer that because I might want him back if you figure out why he makes so much noise LOL)

Oh I am sorry about the misunderstanding. i thought most people here live in America. Unfortunately I cannot come to York any time soon. If you know anyonw who can bring him to London I would definitely give him a good spoilt home. I miss having canaries. They were the first birds I had.

I watched the video again, it sounds like he is talking but in a funny voice, that is his voice I guess, it is like my little Sparky, he speaks in a screechy kiddy voice that drills my brains. I hope he loses it when he grows up.

Yeh I honestly think this is his equivalent of the trill call, whenever my hen does the trill, he responds back with WEEEEEEEEEEEHHH!!!!

Re: One last chance for my canary before adoption :'(
Please excuse the bump in the thread but my dad's circumstances have changed a little and he said he'll adopt my canary for me as the noise doesn't bother him
This is amazing news for me, it means I can still see him when I want! I would have missed him too much if I'd given him to someone far away.
Thanks for all your help.

So glad it all worked out.
Wow, that is quite a sound. I played the video, and for the first four or five calls, all my zebras answered with a BEEP in unison. Then ALL my birds just went silent while it continued. ALL of them--14 budgies, 4 parrotlets, 8 zebras, 6 societies, 4 spice. Not a sound. Never been so quiet while the birds are awake. Wonder what he's saying that would have everybody speechless?
