Yep, it may be because he had three brothers.
I'm probably going to rename him Kurbis, German for pumpkin.

When I had canaries before I got a male as a present and later I was gonna buy a female from someone that only wanted males. She had a cage with about 8 males (if I remember correctly) and the cutest female you can imagine. When I got home to this person to pick up the girl she offered me one of her other birds for free (a waterslager) sins she suspected it also was a female because she didn't sing and the other birds plucked her feathers.
So I came home with Amy (the original bird) and Tara. The next day Tara sang his heart out and never stopped
So I bought a really cute bird (that became tame by her self and wanted to be with me more than my other canaries) and for free I got a really nice song canary. But he kept the name Tara (he was after all named after a singer).
