Although they are technically passerines, canaries tend to be managed uniquely, so here is a forum just for them!

Bugs Bunny, must be an excellent teacher then, because your English is very good.
How is your Canary boy doing today ?

StodOne: I knew someone from Quebec who learned English by watching hockey games on the English TV channel instead of the French channel.
Whatever works.

paul-inAZ Yeah , English was kinda present my whole life so I learned to speak it , there are still some words that I simply do not know because English is not what I see/hear all day long but yeah cartoons did help me learn it when I was a kid xD

I often use Wikipedia for looking up what different species are named in different languages

I look it up in the language I have the name and then change language. But it only works if there is a sight for it in the language I'm looking for, the Latin names can be useful to.
Good luck with your new friend and hope you find a suitable mate for him

What kind of birds do you have? I went to a bird show here in Phoenix last year and found out they aren't coming this year so a little frustrated because I got a good deal on cages last year and need a second one now lol
