Blake, I added the October show to the calendar. I also added the November show taking place in Vancouver that I saw on that website. What is the Feather show? Should I add that to the calendar?

Re: CCBA Sept and Oct canary shows
Wonderful! Thanks for doing that. The Feather Show is the 3rd Sunday of September. It's at the Woodinville location (our monthly meeting location) and is basically a way for novice showers to get an idea of how showing works and how your bird will rate. The October and November show for the Oregon canary club are the most important though.Sally wrote: Blake, I added the October show to the calendar. Thanks again!

Do you think that the feather show should be added to the calendar? Or is it enough to be posted here? I don't mind either way. I've never heard of a feather show before, but what a wonderful idea. Novices often are afraid to show, because they don't know how. But at the National Cage Bird Show last year, a novice WON the Gouldian division, and I think she was SECOND on the top ten bench--what an accomplishment!

Wow, Sally. Maybe the FTW club should offer a feather show, for all us novices at finch shows? I'd be interested in an event like that one.

Re: CCBA Sept and Oct canary shows
We did a program like that last year, but it was just a program at one of our regular meetings. We did it with finches, since those were the easiest to bring, and several members brought finches in show cages. Randy was the steward, and Clarence was the judge (of course), and it was to show novices how a show works, from filling out the entry forms to how the judge makes his decisions. In fact, a novice member went on to win at every show in the area. I'll bring it up at the next meeting, though it would be a bit more difficult for our club--we are an all-bird club, so our show has finch, canary, cockatiel, and parrot divisions.finchmix22 wrote: Wow, Sally.
