white and black canary 7 months old
i want to know about canaries i bought this yesterday but i dont know about them plz help me 

Caged birds accept each other but flight is what they long for.....

What do you need to know? Food? Breeding? etc.? Also, what type canary is that one, as I can't tell from the pic. Congrats on the new bird though! and Welcome!

Welcome! Well they need a good canary diet to start. In addition you should offer:
Fresh greens
smashed hardboiled eggs
cuttlebone
and fresh chopped fruits and veggies for a healthy diet..
If you are planning of breeding they need around 14 hours of light and a bowl nest nad some material to work with.
Your guy is pretty, we would need more picture to identify his color.
Canaries are great singer and are very rewarding, I would keep him. Also what breed is he? And what gneder? Only males sing.

thanks dante!,he is male 7 months old..white with some grey to black small feathers
i bought from a breeder for 20 bucks is 100% male a know that only males sing im not than uninformed
i also have 2 european goldfinches one 3 y old and the other one is one y old.they r finnishing molting and not singing much

thanks dante,i have 2 eurogoldfinches also but im not familiar with canaries this is 100% male,i bought from a breeder that i used to buy food for my goldfiches before i know him he wont sell me female i got it for 20 bucks but i dont know what kind of canary is this and how will be his song i have seen some lemon canaries that sing aloud and nice

He is very pretty, maybe a blue? (they have greyish feathers) He will probaly sing louder than your goldfinches, and for 20$ you cannot beat it! My canary could be heard across the entire house.

yes i think he is a blue i was google-ing and i found that it seems like american singer canary breed...when u think he will start singing dante he only sings keeew keeew now

How long have you had goldfinches? Can you post a picture of them?? Usually people have canaries before thye get goldfinches.

i have 5 or 6 years keeping goldfinches..i like them more than other finches.here in albania they are more common finches than any other
i have a 3 years old male .. i had also the female but it is gone cuz my father let her fly out of cage and she went out from the window
( the male singed more when he was with her
