First the type of canary will help with your question most canaries are breed the same way but some are more troublesome than others it would take me about 10 post to get close to explaining how to do it but in short get a basic book or have a chat with another fancier myself I tend to keep the cock away till I no the hen is ready to breed

Hi!!!! You are sure you have a pair? I would put them in a cage (breeding cage with divider) one on each side for awhile until they get to know each other. The male will sing to the hen then after awhile you could remove the divider put a canary nest in with bedding materials and they will do the rest. My males would start to feed the hens letting them know they want to mate..... It didn't take long....LOL!

Good Luck

I have a pair of yellow canaries. He sings his heart out from morning till night, feeds her, tries to drag some nesting material into the nest... but she is not interested. She is more interested in the food at the moment. I do enjoy his singing, very beautiful. They do not fight or anything they lived together for 2 years(previous owener).
I wonder if they will ever move forward?

GB1 you may have to try another hen that is more receptive to the male.....She may give in or maybe she is to old.....

Canaries need 11 hours or more of natural daylight or artifical light to get into breeding condition.

Jonvill is right do you have lighting for your canaries? I use under cabinet lights 24inch with an on and off switch and it has a full spectrum bulb. I also use a timer

That's what I use too. It is on the timer. They are by the window so they get real sunlight during the day. I am not in a rush or anything I am just wondering if they ever would .

Nothing is happening to mine. Male is ready but female just want to sleep and eat. He feeds her and tries to show off but nothing yet...
