I meant to post this a while back...this is an updated video of Beaker singing. He has come a long way since being rescued from terrible conditions. His feathers are smooth, his air sac mites are gone, and best of all, he sings all day for us. We usually keep him on the balcony while we're home and he loves the strip of afternoon sunshine.
Here's the video...he doesn't like being recorded and kept breaking off, but it'll have to do for now. Definitely a boy...right?

Yes, now I would say he's sounding like a boy. I guess after all he'd been through, he had to re-learn his song as they sometimes do. Just never seen one take that long. Bob

My canary, Kevin often takes quite a while to get his song back after he's moulted. He's still going strong at the 12 year mark. Good luck with Beaker!

Kevin sounds like such a darling! My grandma's canary was 15 when he keeled over mid-song. I kid you not, the little bugger sang until the very end.
