Will she stop laying?

I have a female canary, 2 years old.
Her cage is side by side with another female.
She has laid 5 eggs. There is no nest. Each morning I find an egg either totally destroyed or at least the end the chick would be hatching out of pecked open.
Will she stop laying or just continue on like this until I let her sit on something for a while?
Thanks for your help. :)

I'm wondering if your bird is destroying or pecking at the eggs because there is no nest, she is next to a female, or she is bored with her habitat? Does she miss having another bird in her cage? Does she have a nesting house to sleep in? Does she have toys, mirror, swing, cuttlebone, plants or something to occupy her? Sounds like she is angry about something if she is pecking at them, maybe she is upset they are empty or wants a male companion. Hope my ideas help and you can write with an update on how she is.

She's probably laying the eggs while on a perch and they crack open when they hit the cage floor. Birds will often eat the egg contents when they crack open. It's still a bit early in the season for canaries to be laying, so reassess your bird's lighting and diet. In a few weeks give her a nest if she continues to lay, and let her sit until she tires of them. Bob
