Air Sac Mite

I have several Canaries and recently began suspecting I might have an air sac mite problem, so I treated them last night with SCAT
http://www.allbirdproducts.com/newprodu ... scatt.html and am pleased to say, this morning the symptoms are greatly reduced and the birds seem happy and are going about their business as they should. They have been preening more than I thought they should and displayed that telltale "clicking" sound day and night. I'm very encouraged this morning. Thought I might pass along some good news.....Tom

That is good news! With an air sac mite infestation, you should see improvement fairly quickly. When people suspect ASM, treat with Scatt, and don't see improvement, that often means that it is something else causing the clicking. Sounds like you are on the right track.
Welcome to the forum! There's lots of good reading at the Finch Information Center, linked at left. Though most of the articles are geared to finches, much of the information applies to canaries as well.
