Chili my new Red Factor Canary Male

Although they are technically passerines, canaries tend to be managed uniquely, so here is a forum just for them!

I think we are leaving him single. I love hearing him sing every morning. he gets mostly grated carrots and Kale and sweet potato and spinach. He loves his greens so much. I bought the red factor supplement to put in his water but I have not had to use it much when he molts , I guess the carrots he eats takes care of the color.

Wow, absolutely gorgeous color. He is beautiful, congrats! Give him sweet potato (cooked), red bell pepper, and carrots to naturally maintain and enhance his coloring.

Hi Karen,
Actually, I'm in Clinton. Just saw your post today. So glad to learn of a fellow bird enthusiast in my area. I actually have a few societies that fledged a few months ago that I am looking to find a home for. Do you need some? I'm still waiting to hear where the gorgeous red canary came from. Maybe he was referring to a bird fair which they used to have a number of years ago in our area but don't any more.

Hi Everyone, first post here but I thought I could chime in with some answers on this thread as I am a native of Jackson, MS and my wife is a native of Memphis, TN.

I think that the Jackson BF that is being referred to here is the one in Jackson, TN that they hold in February and August. https://www.facebook.com/Jacksontnbirdfair/
