My trouble makers

Although they are technically passerines, canaries tend to be managed uniquely, so here is a forum just for them!

My trouble makers

Post by Atbird » Sat Feb 21, 2015 10:24 pm

I finally figured out how to post pictures, so here are my trouble makers. Cinder is the red black mosaic male. The second picture is with his mate, Blaze, who looks a little frazzled because last year she was having trouble getting out of egg laying mode, so i separated her to control her lighting but i forgot to give her red egg food so she has all different colors this year.
Their daughter is Sunday. Her and her dad are the main busybodies. They are also always arguing, but they dont fight. She was a lone chick and was very tame, but got a little more wild when influenced by her parents. (I'm pretty sure she's a female, but I'll know for sure in a month if she lays eggs)

Sunday is gorgeous. I'm actually a bit partial to Blaze's "natural" colors too...lol She's very pretty.

Colt thank you. I originally kept Sunny because she was quite tame, i was pleasantly surprised when she molted into such a deep dark red.

Blaze's color is more patchy than shows up in the picture. I don't think it would be as bad if she didnt get any red food, but she got some, so she has patches of dark red and beige red. Every year I'm tempted to let them molt without any red supplement, but i chicken out because i really love the red color. =P~
