canary color and calling ?s

Although they are technically passerines, canaries tend to be managed uniquely, so here is a forum just for them!

canary color and calling ?s

Post by cleigh9579 » Sun Feb 22, 2015 1:15 pm

Ok i have a few questions.
What color is my little girl considered?? Green??

Also she was in a cage with other birds when i got her. She calls almost non stop. Sits at her mirror and talks and calls to the birds outside.
Do females call for a mate?? I am pretty sure she is lonely.

Canary morning:

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Hello.

She almost looks like a green Fife with the wild colouring. She is a very cute girl.

As to the calling, I honestly don't know. Most Canary females chirp and occasionally will sing a little. Maybe she was seperated from a mate.

While i was watching your video, I realized that my canaries were doing the exact same thing and they live with their mate. I don't know where you are located, but here in the US, my canaries are getting ready for breeding in a month and that is typical behavior.

As for her color, the greens I've seen are more green
http://iranac.perso.sfr.fr/canari139.jpg. Maybe its just the way the color shows up on my computer, but she doesnt look that green. Maybe brown, or agate ?

She is very pale. Almost grey. Im thinking the she needs either a mate or a friend.

Agate produces a grey bird

Probably a non intensive yellow agate.

She is much paler than the brown/cinnamon one. What color is the other classified as? Very beautiful color.

adoumski Your canaries are beautiful. I love the glosters, they look so regal. Too bad they don't come in red black color.
