Got offered a pair of timbrado, at a price 7.5 times more than a normal pair €90 vs €12... Are they worth song wise? Wish I could upload a sound clip of my normals singing so could compare...thx

Malti hi,
You can compare the songs of your current canaries with YouTube videos of timbrado songs and see for yourself if you like the song style.
Ask the seller if timbrados for sale are song trained and what style they sing (continuous, semi continuous, discontinued) that might affect the price also their availability in your area.
I got my pair for 100$, but then again a pair of borders costed me 160$ (because they are rare in my country)
You can upload a video to YouTube of your canaries and post the link here. It will be nice to hear them

Depends on what you want them for. Are you planning on showing, or starting a breeding program? Personally, I don't think the timbrado is much different than an American singer. My father used to breed Russians and I didn't like their song at all. It's all personal preference. Do YOU think their worth it's? Ultimately it's what you willing to pay.

I would try and listen to these birds sobg before buying them . Diferent Timbrado can have different songs, depending on genetics.
Personally I find some Timbrado songs, almost metalic in some cases.

will do,

here borders are in the same price range if you want show ones, cheaper if you want just to have some. yorkshire on the other hand cost a kidney esp winners in a show.
will do if i get a chance, cause at the moment its more feeding hour and i'm out of the house

I'm still a noob at showing - having my first shot next year with fifes, got 5 pairs which are from good stock, so should be a good start.
guess i'll forego the pair for now and specify on fifes.
