My new baby and first bird!

Although they are technically passerines, canaries tend to be managed uniquely, so here is a forum just for them!

My new baby and first bird!

After years of contemplating, I took the plunge and got my first bird! Her names Gytha Ogg. She's a green variegated canary and I'm totally enamored with her!

Congrats on your new bird and your entry to the hobby! You will find it can be addictive! There's lots of good reading at www.finchinfo, though most of the articles apply to finches rather than canaries. There are some similarities though. If you put your general location in your profile, it makes it easier to answer locale-specific questions later on.

I will move this topic to the All Things Canary forum, where it will be noticed by more of the canary owners on this forum.
