Hi there mate,

Onest opinion is that I think it's a cross bred between a new colour canary and a gloster canary

I can't actually see any straight pedigree in the bird

Over here in England we have a reasonably new breed of canary, when I say new it's probably a 30-40 year old breed but this isn't old as you probably know that some canary variety have been going for the last 150-200 odd years,

The breed than I'm talking about is the Stafford, it's actually a crested new colour canary although a lot of these are more like variegated crested red factor canaries,

It may be possible that if yer bird is a straight bird it could be a heavy variegated non colour fed new colour canary :-BD

Ahh ok, I tried looking at Web sites where they shown pics of types of breeds of canaries but the pics are blurry and not very helpful. If I had a clearer version it be easier for me to tell which breed is which. I currently have dominant white, red factors, and crested I'm breeding. I'm trying to keep like with like. To avoid an jnknown outcome.

Hi mate, have a look at the website of the CANARY COLOUR BREEDERS ASSOCIATION,

Colourcanaries.co.uk

There are some very good quality pics on the site

Yep quite agree about like to like, in the canary world it's always best to have quality straight pedigree birds as mongerals really and truly are next to useless
