Crested Canaries

Picked up these two last afternoon - brother and sister, born this March.
Joey is orange, and a beautiful singer.
Maggie has a dark mullet with a white ring around her throat that resembles a white necklace.
It's been a two year search to find crested canaries again after I lost my beloved Steve and finally I found a breeder with some birds - and red factor crosses, too!

Not knowing if I'd find any again, I got two, and will mate them with my other canaries (mother and two sons, American Singers) in the spring and hopefully get some more of these lovely little guys into the local gene pool.

Gorgeous; I am looking into getting a canary. Bought the cage yesterday & hope to find some for sale at the Madison, Wisconsin Bird Fair, Sunday, Dec 4.
I've sold all my Gouldians & have 5 Scarlet Chested Parakeets for sale; someone is supposed to come Sunday for them; if not, they'll be available.

If they are brother and sister, the male is a carrier for cinnamon!

She looks to be variegated cinnamon in the picture. Sorry if I'm mistaken.

They're doing great.

He's actually really good-natured and an amazing singer - sings all day, much more than my two American singers. Very bold too, not timid as they are. His sister is lovely too, but I'll admit I'm really fond of him. He's just the perfect canary for me! My favorite color, my favorite type (crested), and he's a Timbrado cross, so my favorite type of song!

He loves his baths.

Well, if you don't particularly care for little Maggie, just put her in an envelope and ship her my way. I think she's absolutely the cutest thing ever :D

Glad to hear that Joey boy is living up to expectations and then some.

How is he getting along with the other Canary kids?

They're in separate cages and don't come out at the same time.
They don't seem to mind each other.
