Went out in our first blizzard Sunday & bought great little canary (having sold all my other birds). I play "learning canary sounds" from U-tube every morning, but no singing yet; I think he has to get used to his new environment. (how long will that take?)

Looks like my Joey.
Joey was quiet until the evening of his second day here - hasn't stopped singing since.

Thanks all :!: He is orange because the breeder fed him "color-up" food, which I'm not going to do. Breeder said he will change to yellow in about a year. I love his mop head :D

Hi Dolly,

Your sweet little guy should not be moulting right now. Moulting season, is in the Summer....

Thanks Harry Canary was definitely getting too much light. I've cut the timer back to 8 a.m. on and 5 pm off.
Should I cover the cage then at 5 too?

I wouldn't cover, seeing as it gets dark so early anyway.
