Hello everyone,

I was given this canary as a gift, sex unknown, age unknown, genealogy unknow.
If it serves me right this should be a female cinnamon factor correct canary experts ????

Beautiful canary!! Does this kind of canary sing? If it does then you will be able to tell its gender by whether or not it sings! sorry, I nothing about this kind of canary- I only have orange canaries.

I have not heard the bird sing. Yes he or she is extremely beautiful.

I don't think it's a full cinnamin, I see some black melanin but that could just be the lighting, but yes, I think you can call that a yellow cinnamon canary. Has fairly good striations as well, although obviously not in the tail (which seems to be common).

Have you heard any singing yet? Do you know the age? Blowing on the vent area can be a very clear way of sexing a canary, but may require feather trimming around that area (look up where it's safe to trim, as trimming the vent feathers can have a very negative affect) I've never actually done this, but I heard it aids in canary breeding and will give it a go in the upcoming weeks.
