Hybrid-mules

Although they are technically passerines, canaries tend to be managed uniquely, so here is a forum just for them!

Hybrid-mules

Post by Razasings » Thu Mar 22, 2018 12:24 am

Under my understanding the males and female hybrids are sterile. If it is a male it will sing it’s heart for you. If it is a female could be a excellent foster hen. I have a male Grey singer that is bonding well with european serin female, which is close relative to the common canary. My research has lead me to belive that offspring will be infertile as well.

It varies with the species used. Many males of some hybrids, especially of the same genus, are fertile.
