Hi all,

I have just found out what colour a leg ring means to which year.
We can work out how old our beloved canaries are. ..

Year......Colour Ring
2013 = Black
2014 = Light Green
2015 = Violet
2016 = Orange
2017 = Blue
2018 = Red
Colours are on a 6 year cycle so:
2019 = Black
2020 = Light Green
2021 = Violet
2022 = Orange
2023 = Blue

These colours are set by the fife federation for showing the canaries.

I hope this helps some of you to tell the age of some of your canaries. Non show birds could have random colours...
