Training question

Although they are technically passerines, canaries tend to be managed uniquely, so here is a forum just for them!

Training question

Post by Birdlover2018 » Wed Jul 25, 2018 4:31 pm

Usually, when I'm training my canary (hand training) she comes right to me and starts eating the treat I'm giving her. Today, however, I did everything the same as I usually do but she flew away. I'm not sure why she reacted like this. Does anybody have a thought as to why?

Well nobody came in scared her with their hands but I did bump my desk an hour or so beforehand. Maybe that just startled her?

Is she moulting or beginning to moult? They are more nervous when moulting..kind of on edge.

My canaries do like variation in their day. Maybe switch around her routine a bit like food variation, change the order in which you do things. These little birds are incredibly clever and have a strong will.
