I really like the Eastern Rosella. They seem to be more popular on the west coast for some reason - or at least, most of the on-line ads for Rosellas (for sale) seem to be in California. I have seen them occasionally here in the Philly area but not too often.

I've heard that Rosellas can be nippy if you try to tame them as a pet and that, while they can get tame, they don't like to be handled. But the colors are amazing.

You might want to re-post your parrot photos on the "Hookbill" section of the Finch forum so more parrot-owners can see them.

My goodness... what a beautiful sight...

I really love the bird in Picture 6. Can't get over the color on the wings of the one in the forefront, looks like a painting!

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for your comment, this bird is even prettier outside than in pictures and my 7 years old son really like this bird too, he's the one that pushed for the acquisition. =D>

I went to visit a friend's birds with my son, my friend wants to part with this bird, so we made a trade. It costs me 3 young canaries and another pair of breeding canary already on eggs, but it worth it.

Hi Ron, I am new to Eastern Rosellas and I have to admit that their colors are so attractive and wonderful. Hookbill are more popular recently. Not that many people try to tame these rosellas and they don't like being handled, but it's possible with patience, you would be a perfect candidate to tame these birds. :P
