Re: Franklin wants friends
Budgies actually can be really good friends with finches.
These are my Max and Luna (Javas) and their respective parakeets, Arthur and Sydney. Each finch sleeps with their favored parakeet every night. I've even seen the two species grooming one another.

Re: Franklin wants friends
All animals are individuals, however with lots of space I find many things that aren't supposed to work, work out just fine. I've had good luck with it. I have three male and one female budgerigar living in the bird room with 30-something smaller birds, various finches and canaries. The males are much more docile, but even the hen gets along pretty well, she just tends to take over nestboxes, so for now I've not got any up in the room.
The hen and her mate, not pictured, stick to themselves, but these two male parakeets are very close to the Javas, and get along with all the other finches as well. They eat out of the same food bowls and even allow the society finches to land on their backs to eat if they're taking up all the standing room in the feeder.

Re: Franklin wants friends
Do you have a whole flight " room" for them or large flight cage? Just wondering how much room is enough room.
