Hello everyone. My oldest daughter and my aunt have both recently gotten pairs of parakeets. Unfortunately all four of them are young and we can't really tell if any of them are boys or girls. I know you're supposed to be able to tell by the nose band but I really can't yet as I have more experience with finches. Could any parakeet experts kindly tell me, by looking at their pictures, if any of them are male or female?

I would say that the blue one is male, the albino is male, yellow is female, and the blue one with her is male, but flash photography can alter cere coloration. Females have white around their nostrils, and as babie have light blue elsewhere. Young males have purple ceres, or pink in albinos, which no white on the nostril and an even shade throughout.

It looks to me that the birds in the first photo are male, and the ones in the second photo are females.
I am not 100% sure though...it may be that the 2nd bird in the last photo is male as Sheather has said.
