Re: Parrotlets Starting Another Clutch
Thank you Dante!
Unfortunately I need to find homes for all of them I wish I could keep the blue male because he was what I was hoping to get out of the clutch but I may be moving at the end of this month and alrdy have too many cages!
Plus Bee Bee is so sweet right now and I dont want any sort of competition going on lol.
Yes Bee Bee has met her siblings...well looking at them from the outside of the brooder. I think she wonders who they are haha.

I agreed its not necessary for this thread. but you sounded like i dont know what a plet bite or tasting people's fingers like. I meant if they were to be agitated to the point of snapping and those fingers are facing it where will it aim to bite?L in Ontario wrote:grassland09 - those photos are not necessary for your post nor directly related to 'plets biting or tasting people's fingers.grassland09 wrote:Just browsing this forum to look at pictures of nice finches. I didnt know that plet is also shared here!!!
Gratz Dee your plet are growing up happily with you.
I have never keep any parrot before until this year April somehow came across plet and bought him on Good Friday. I like small birds that why i keep finches and plet is among the smallest pet parrot.
I did joined a parrotlet forum and i didnt quite like it initially but seem like not much plet forum around. i didnt like it because when i first joined i try to post a topic twice and the topic has never showed up even until now. At least, the moderator should let me know as why my post is not valid.
My topic is about why plet like to aim for the cuticle when they bite.
I suspected its due to their natural instinct or way of survival of the fittest as can be illustrated by the below link (have to scroll down 80%).
Definitely, nobody who love their plet will caused it to be in that mode.

Re: Parrotlets Starting Another Clutch
I cant believe that my time with these babies is coming to an end
The green female is already weaned and eating on her own, and the blue male is following suit.
Im going to keep them till the end of this week to make sure they are doing ok and then will be looking for new homes for them.
Personalities:
The green female is very much the "mommy" of the 4. She preens everyone and is VERY curious of her surroundings. She will come to me if I am at eye level and just start talking to her. She will run up to my face and climb my shoulders.
The blue male is very curious too. He stops and listens to my voice, tilting his head and looking at my mouth as I talk. He trys to "preen" me. I think he will be very sweet.
The youngest two (green male, and blue female) still need another week or two to wean.
The green male is still a little baby, and more of the quieter one. He likes being taken care of by his older sister.
The blue female, is very out there. Shes the one that gobbles down her food so fast thinking someone is going to steal it from her
They like to sit on the palm of my hand and just look around.
Im working on the step ups with the two oldest ones. They are starting to get it, but are very curious of their surroundings
Ahhh...its sad to let them go, but this is what happens when you choose to breed. You cant keep them all...

Dee, you should really try and keep one with Bee, if it doesn't work you can get rid of him.. they are too cute to not keep one!

Yeah, you are probaly right! Dee, try the lottery. You need a larger house, so you can keep all the birds you want!

Re: Parrotlets Starting Another Clutch
Well today the little blue male is going to his new home. Its a little bittersweet. But Im sure he will be very happy.
I will be meeting the person at 6 tonight.
I still have 3 babies left if anyone is interested.
