He walks across the keyboard!! We have to watch him because he tries to pull the keys up!! And he is persistant about it!! I distract him with treats and toys!

Cindy, he is so cute... Like having another child!

Rummy is finally starting to say actual phrases...he sits on his favorite green pedi perch at nap time and mumbles words, or he likes to hang out on my shoulder and chatter. If I speak to him he tries to get in my face to see me.

Words are getting clearer and louder... "pretty" "peek-a-boo" makes the kiss sound, "out" "pretty bird" "whatch a doing", "love you"...he rambles them off very quickly or he will just say a few words.

Today I was sitting at the table (I use my comuter there and take phone calls there) his cage is to the left of me, the cage door swings outward and he loves to climb across it, hang upside down and climb onto my shirt....but this time he hung upside down and asked "how ya doin?" as clear as day!!

I was like where did that come from, called my husband...he taught him that...he will ask him "Rummy, how ya doin?"

The whole talking thing happened fast...when I go to take the dogs out you can see him studying me and my words as I say "Be right back, bye bye"

He is a riot but he has a real big fascination with my lap top and the clicking of the keys...I may have to get a keyboard protector!!!

Rummy sounds like a precocious boy. Are you going to get him a hen one day?

No.......

Maybe someday getting back into some parrotlets, maybe a breeder pair or two. But for now I am enjoying my little friend!
