A new addition

Post by PrettyBird » Thu Jan 24, 2013 5:39 pm

Well..we have another bird in the house  my 5 yr old daughter has a violet factor budgie, and she wanted to get him a buddy.
So today we picked up a cute white harleqiun? budgie. Not sure if this is correct mutation. Budgie experts please let me know.He/she is about 3 months old or a little younger. I think its a young female. But not 100%. My daughter named this one, "Snowy"
I will post a picture shortly.

Its funny how I swore I'd never have budgie's again because of their noise....I guess never say never? lol #-o

Budgies are NOISY!!!! Trust me, I am sitting in a room with 15 of them. When the phone rings, or we talk (or try to talk) to each other, they join in and it gets NOISIER!!!

There are other small parrot-like birds that are not so noisy. If sound volume is an issue, consider something else besides a budgie.

I love my birds and all the noise, too, but sometimes, geez they're loud.

 Simon! I know!
...Ah what can you do? this ones so cute, and the other budgie needed a cage mate.

Jingles, the 5 month old violet male is already taken to her, and says "kiss, kiss" (my female parrotlet Bee Bee taught him to say it)

This budgie was handfed, but as im told hasnt been handled in a while so shes nippy.
Im going to give her some time and let her settle in. Then Im gonna try and work with her and at least get her to step up on my finger.

Anyhoo, heres pictures of Snowy. Sorry the quality isnt the greatest, I took the pics around dinner time.

What mutation do you guys think she is? I was told white harlequin. She has black spotting on her, and her tummy area is a light sky blue color. the rest of her is all white.

Heres a better picture of the Snowy. She has really taken to Jingles & he to her. Which is great!
