I currently have a male cockatiel (Leela, yes I know its a girls name... we though he was a girl for a long time and the name had stuck and was to difficult to change by the time he "changed" into a male) who thinks he is the Father of a pair of Turquoisines. He sat on the eggs and has raised the babies right up until now in early adulthood. Very sweet.
Here is a video of him feeding one of "his" babies.

I don't even try to name my Java sparrows as we have 10 of them and they don't sit still long enough to tell which ones which.

Hahaha. That is so funny! I only have 2: one white one normal.

Leela follows the babies around and makes sure they are ok more than the biological parents, it is very sweet. We would make a great Daddy.
