Charlie, this pair is very funny, they know when I am going to open the blinds in the morning, the male will go to the lower perch and wait, he just stands there looking out. Her spot to view the yard is at the top.

Wow, beautiful Cindy!! Saw a male fire sale here a while back, but 300$ for a line make sounded ridiculous! Are you breeding these?

Yes boxes go up on two pairs in September.

Maybe the bourkes and some budgies but not scarlets, I did at one time but they are not usually kept as pets. I am prepared with 10 lbs of Roudybush formula just in case I have to.

So excited...the hens that are in with the males...their beaks are changing to a brown color. Soon they will be ready to breed! The hens were 8 months old back in March....so they certainly are old enough!

The males beaks are black already!

Interesting, do the beaks change color when they are mature enough to breed or when they are in breeding condition?
