Usually she will sit after the 3rd egg. Most will lay at least 3 to 5,6 eggs.

If they do not seem to like the other pair or other hen interfering you may need to consider single pair/cage breeding. See how it goes, some do well with colony breeding.

Cindy I missed this post somehow. They are so adorable, but the owls looks so small next to them. :shock: Do they all get along?

Donna, they do get along well. One older male usually has a few all cuddled up next to him. The sleep and eat side by side. When I feed the owls come down first and then the bourkes either join them or eat later, depends on what is served.

Arh they are soooo cute I just love bourkes. Tell me though, what are the hoops you have at the top of your aviary??

Those are roosting spots for owl finches.
