Yes, I have seen pictures of them. They are a fascinating looking creature. They look like a hybrid between a hawk and a parrot, don't they?

I have always had a special place in my heart for the hawk family and their like. We actually have a pair of hawks in our area here and every year I keep my eyes open for them and their new babies. Always hoping they will drop one of their children on my door step in a basket with an 'adopt me' note attached.

They are super striking.
Agree with the Poinsettia remark!

Princess of Wales parakeets are incredibly lovely as well. One of my favorites.

Love Eastern Rosellas too. They're just so pretty.

You know what's really striking in real life are hyacinth macaws.
They are just such a deep, rich blue and they're HUGE!
Humum to....
13 Zebra Finches....and 2 squeeps!
3 Society Finches
6 Gouldians
1 Weaver
1 Pintail Whydah
2 Cockatiels
2 Parakeets

....along with 1 MinPin, 1 Pug, 1 JRT, 1 Yorkie, 2 Chihuahuas and 15 cats.

I have a friend in Eastern Europe who has these parrots.He has indoor outdoor aviary . Funny thing is they have access to outdoor year round even during a cold winter and his birds just love the snow ...

I have a friend in E. Europe who has these birds in his indoor outdoor aviary . Birds have outdoor access year round and his birds love the snow . They are more common in Europe , I have seen them advertised for sale for a 100Euro per bird. Have not heard of them or seen them States Side.

These parrots are more common in Europe where they can be purchased for around Euro 100.00 per bird.

I still think they are absolutely stunning. I have yet to see one in real life, but from the pictures, I have to say that their colours are out of this world.

How cold does it get in whichever country your friend lives in?

Cold , -5C to anywere to -15 or even colder at night( winter time ) . Birds do stay indoors at night. Yes they are beautiful !!!
